An expert team, not a guru
PFB Performance brings together strength and conditioning coaches and rehab professionals who work in professional basketball. We share what we do with our players, with the evidence behind it.
How we work
- Evidence first. Every article cites the research it relies on, checked against PubMed. If the evidence is weak, we say so.
- Then the court. We explain how we apply it in a real week, with games, travel and a head coach who wants everyone available.
- Criteria, not dates. Especially in return to play: players progress when they pass the tests, not when the calendar says so.
- Reviewed before publishing. Every article is reviewed before it goes live, and again when the evidence changes. The review date is on every article.
What we cover
Strength & power: lifting, jumping and sprinting for athletes who also have to play. Injury & return to play: rehab progressions and the criteria to go back. Load monitoring: internal and external load, kept simple. We also write about conditioning and youth athletes.
Most of our work comes from basketball, so most examples do too. The principles apply to any team sport, and over time we will cover more of them.
Our experts
